The SENTINELTM M.A.C.S. is designed by KMW and manufactured by McMillan Fiberglass Stocks. It was developed over a period of 6 years and includes input from top competition shooters as well as law enforcement agencies across the country.
This stock features an ambidextrous thumbhole grip and integral adjustable cheek piece design. Unique features include a very low profile forend with a conformal bottom factory molded for the excellent Harris S-Series bipods. Marble and camouflage patterns are molded into the Gel Coat outer layer.
The SENTINEL will be available in a rigid, fixed A1 version and a folding butt A2 version is being developed.
Every SENTINELTM Stock includes LoggerHeadTM adjustable cheek piece hardware. This KMW designed hardware is proven to retain shooter preferences when removed and replaced and will not vibrate loose when shooting or transporting the rifle.
The stock includes flush mounted sling hard points with one set of 1 ¼" heavy duty swivel loops and one standard stud hard point for bipod attachment under forearm. Available in fixed L.O.P. at 13.5" which includes a 1.1" Decellerator D550 recoil pad or with the excellent McMillan L.O.P. Spacer System and Pachmayr Presentation pad.
The stock is fitted with detachable magazine bottom hardware and accepts 5 and 10 round A.I.C.S. magazines.
Features Include

Ambidextrous design: All curves, grips and lines are symmetrical from side to side. Stock is designed to be easily shot from left or right shoulder.
Thumbhole grip: The firing grip area utilizes a new generation thumbhole design that is meant to offer the user a control surface that is comfortable from all positions and for prolonged periods of use. The trigger reach and position in relation to the grip is designed to accommodate a wide range of users. Hand position and access to bolt, trigger and magazine release is meant to be intuitive for the user. There is molded in surface texture in this area to offer a more slip resistant grip.

Ultra Low Profile Forend: . . positions the barrel into a very low center of gravity in relation to the rest of the stock and any bipod or rest. This configuration helps minimize rifle twist generated from the torque of bullet spin up and helps reduce perceived muzzle climb.
There is molded in surface texture on each side of the rear forend area to offer a more slip resistant surface when in using a conventional two handed grip.
Conformal Bipod Station: The bottom, front of the forend has an integrally molded-in station dedicated to the excellent Harris S-Series bipods. This feature places the apex of the bipod legs as close to possible to the bore line.
This molded-in station controls and locks the bipod body preventing the skew or twisting sometimes experienced when these or other bipods are attached to conventional stocks with large flat bottoms.
Integral Adjustable Cheekpiece: Many modern rifle systems are configured with a day sight or scope/night vision combo that places the sight plane higher above the bore line than conventional hunting/target rifles. This has evolved the need to place the shooter's cheek position higher so that the optic can be viewed comfortably and consistently for extended periods. The SENTINELTM COMBAT STOCK meets this need with an integral adjustable cheek piece molded separately from the main stock for enhanced strength and adjustability. The heart of this stocks Integral Adjustable Cheek piece is the LoggerHeadTM hardware. This hardware is was designed and developed by KMW to specifically survive the rigors of duty and service use without vibrating loose. Adjustable for vertical as well as lateral user preferences, this hardware will retain the user settings while removing and re-installing the cheek piece during routine maintenance.
Heavy Duty TG/DM: This stock utilizes a trigger guard and integrated detachable magazine system developed by KMW to maximize ease of use and reliability. This stock was designed to allow the trigger guard to be merged precisely into a well refined system. Our bottom metal accepts Accuracy International AICS magazines.
We believe we have developed an exceptional magazine release that is easier to use, more damage resistant, and more snag resistant than any other bolt action DM system in existence. This magazine release offers all of this while still being accessible with gloves on and while minimizing the chance of accidental magazine loss.
Forward sides of the trigger guard are recessed to allow maximum access to the magazine release while still protecting this part from damage. This feature also helps reduce the chance of accidental release of the magazine during aggressive or rough handling of the weapon.
Our system includes a funneled magazine well that offers greatly improved insertion of the magazine into the weapon compared to other systems currently on the market. This stock and DM system offers maximum vertical support of the magazine for reliable and repeatable positioning of the rounds in relation to the receiver's feed ramp.
All inside and outside edges of this unit are radiused so that there are no sharp edges. All surfaces and corners are much more user friendly than most D.M systems on the market. Production costs are increased to include this feature but the final design and finished product are superior to anything else in current production.

Wide Area Recoil Pad: All cross sections of the SENTINELTM COMBAT STOCK are kept lean. This stock is thick where it needs to be yet slim in areas that allow it with no loss of strength or user comfort. The rear of the stock butt sports a slim cross section that flares to an increased size behind the adjustable cheek piece. This is to allow the maximum reasonable width and height recoil pad. Not to be confused with the recoil pad THICKNESS, a wider and taller pad increases the total square inches in contact with the users shoulder. The more surface contact that exists between the rifle and shooter, the better the recoil forces are distributed. A fixed recoil force distributed over more area equals less pressure per square inch, which equals decreased perception of recoil to the shooter.
Reinforced Midsection: The weakest point of most conventional stocks is at the cross sections where the recoil lug and magazine feed system resides. The SENTINELTM addresses this area with a reinforced midsection. The width of this stock is approximately 0.100" more than many of its counterparts. While allowing more material margins around the action inlet, this stock is still very much at home with standard size 1.350" diameter actions. The drop belly midsection is designed to offer very comfortable textured grip areas when used in positional firing positions. The design goes to great lengths to blend all lines and curves into an ergonomic package that offers comfortable user contact surfaces.
Toe hook: The toe of this stock includes an integrated grip area that can be used to anchor and or steer the rifle with more control than conventional stock butts. This section of the stock is shaped to be used alone or in conjunction with a rear pinch bag type rest. There is molded in surface texture in this area to offer a more slip resistant surface.
Molded In Camo Gel-Coat: This feature is unique to the McMillan manufacturing process. In addition to being very strong and durable, this Gel-Coat can include integrated colors literally molded into the shell of the stock. Different camouflage patterns and color themes can be specified during the manufacture of each group of stocks.
